Dino Zoff Italian goalkeeper Dino Zoff was forty years old when he became the oldest player ever to win the World Cup, at the 1982 tournament in Spain.

Italy broke the World Cup soon after receiving it in 2006. A large piece of the green malachite which surrounds the base was chipped off during their victory celebrations.
